FACULTY AND STUDENT REVIEWS

"The variety and motion in SEEING SYSTEMS startles students who otherwise expected a routine textbook approach to system dynamics. I use this along with Oshry's LEADING SYSTEMS with advanced classes in Organizational Development where mid-career professionals are honing their systems thinking skills. SEEING SYSTEMS plays on the students' tension between explaining dynamics personally (their preferred mode) as against seeing them systemically."

Katherine Farquhar, Assistant Professor, American University

"Thanks for the on-line conversations with my students; these invariably help them clarify concepts and develop strategies for applying these in their own situations. A typical comment: Barry helped me think about leadership in a different manner and he raised some important issues. I also get comments such as Thank you, Professor Wolff, for being innovative and creative in using this marvelous technology to enhance our learning experience and in providing us with an experience that we will never forget."

Steve Wolff, Assistant Professor, Marist College

"Thanks for participating in both classes...[the students] were totally jazzed to have you in their class, and they felt honored by your presence and brilliance. Your insights and knowledge are so appreciated...The students love [SEEING SYSTEMS], and...75% of them are citing your work in their 'summary of learning' papers."

Laurie Winder, Instructor, Western Washington University

What Students are Saying About SEEING SYSTEMS

"We have read quite a few different books on systems and systems theory...and now finally...a book on systems that I not only enjoyed reading, but could actually relate to. Thank you so much!"

Marion Murray

"What an eye-opener!...I could not put down this book! Your book shares an insightful and analytical way of understanding organizational power struggles."

Carolyn Wilson

"I remembered when I worked in a small agricultural cooperative for several years, and I realized I had been seeing what happened only in my world (bottoms)...I now see that I had a narrow outlook on problems that I had."

Ayako Kashiwagi

"Wow! What a great book!...I found myself locked into what you had to say."

Julie Sehold

"As I was reading, I began to realize how pertinent the subject matter is to every part of one's life. This is not a book that only those in large corporations need to read but a book that should be read by any and all who are a part of any relationship...Thanks for putting this important subject out there! Now how can we make it a required reading for all of our family members, co-workers, etc.??"

Lindsay Rowlands

"Great book...I very much appreciate your knowledge and your inspiration for wanting to share with us the ability to see systems and the effect they have. I loved the book and have passed it on to my husband."

Lynne Springer

"I thank you for creating such a simple but profound book that digs deep into how "We" are...a book that is easy, fun to read, is not boring and keeps peaking my interest...This is very cool."

Bernadette Quinn

"Thank you for taking the time to enrich our education. I thought your book was wonderful."

Dawn Gravning

"A perspective with a fresh new twist...it helped me to think outside the box."

Aimee Elber

"I wanted to applaud you on using an unconventional format...I wish more authors would experiment."
